1. What made you move to Worthing RFC?
I’ve just started a new job as the strength & conditioning coach with Sussex Cricket, mainly working with academy age groups and Worthing is the closest rugby club at a top level plus I’ve heard good things about the club and style of rugby the Raiders play.
2. Having played in Pro 12 and the Championship, what experience can you bring to the squad?
There is a lot of good, young talent in the back line already so I’m lucky to be joining in with the style they’re trying to play and I’ll just try to use my experiences to read the game in creating chances and help the game easier for the decision makers.
3. Who’s the best player you’ve played alongside and why?
It’s got to be Ruan Pienaar. Anyone who follows rugby will know he’s a class act on and off the field! On the field his skills and reading of the game just led the rest of the team to follow him!
4. How did you find your first run out against Bury St Edmunds?
Proved a tough encounter, however I feel the yellow card was what hurt us the most, we played all the rugby and showed great spirit to fight back in the last 15 mins to get 2 points away from home!
5. What’s the funniest/strangest thing you’ve seen during a game?
Probably the Leeds varsity 2 years ago! As you could imagine a varsity game on a Wednesday night with 17,000 students in Headingley Stadium who’d been drinking all day led to the streakers! One however was proving hard to deal with by the stewards and as he ran up to our winger he picked him up and dumped him!
