Busy is an understatement here at Roundstone Lane and it’s just how we like it. The weekend starts here tomorrow, 25th October with our Spooktastic Halloween party. This has been arranged by our mini section and is a fundraiser for their tour. Tickets are still available up till lunchtime if you want to come and join the fun, £5 per person. This is a strictly ticketed event.
If you are looking to get some new Worthing RFC “stash” then there is no better time than between Friday and Monday as O’Neills have 20% off for this weekend only. Just visit https://www.oneills.com/uk_en/shop-by-team/rugby/rugby-union/worthing-rfc.html
Saturday is rugby ready from the very start. We will be open from 8 am with bar and kitchen facilities available for THE game of the World Cup, England v New Zealand kicks off at 9am. You have got to be at your club to cheer on the boys, sing the national anthem, face down the Hakka and have a great time with like minded people. What better whilst basking in the glory of an England win to stay on and watch game 8 of the 2019/20 season for the Raiders as we welcome Westcliff RFC to the park for the first time. Would be great to have a loud and proud supporting crowd to show the team and the opposition what a great place Worthing RFC is to be.
Remember the clocks go BACK an hour this Sunday, so you get an extra hour to recover from Saturdays activities.
If that is not enough rugby for you then get up early on Sunday and come down to your club and see who out of Wales and South Africa are going to play us in the World Cup Final the following Saturday. Kitchen and bar facilities open from 8 am again. We then have mini and junior training followed by the Worthing Warriors (Ladies) v Hove 2’s at 2pm and that will be a game worth watching.
So, to conclude for this weekend players young and old, supporters young and old, parents, friends, in fact anybody with a pulse! Come down to Worthing RFC – Cheer on England and Wales and let’s hope for the first ever Northern Hemisphere final!!
It doesn’t stop there though. We have 1 week to go until our fantastic fire work display. Tickets are available at a discounted rate in advance from the club office weekdays and then the bar in the evenings and weekends.
It are events like these that don’t just happen without the support of the club members. Obviously this is by attending the event but also by providing your support in the setup, running and clear down. We need volunteers to help in the daytime on Friday 1st with the preparation of the club site, then from 5 pm people to help with the entrance gate and making sure everyone enters the premises safely, assist with cover on one of the 3 bars open on the night and safe exiting of the premises after the event. We are not asking for hours of your time but the more people we can get to help then the less everyone will need to do. This is a great family event that lasts into the night with a party in the clubhouse after the firework display.
For those of you available on the 2nd we will need help with the clear up of the site. This will involve removal of barriers, collating rubbish and making sure there is no debris on the pitches so they can be safely used by the mini’s and juniors the next day. Follow this with the World Cup Final!!!!
